Sophisticated technology and high-quality components enable high performance in a compact cabinet. The DP-M series of high-performance power supplies deliver up to 1.8kW of power from a 19″ 1U 1/2-width cabinet, allowing two units to be mounted side by side in a 1U slot. In addition, high-performance power supplies from the DP-M series can be used in all cabinet sizes rack-mounted or free-standing – the appropriate mounting accessories for rack installation are included free of charge with all devices in 2U and 3U designs. Suitable mounting accessories for two 19″ 1U 1/2 devices in one slot can be ordered separately.

With the units of the DP-M Series, we have introduced a universal communication interface that allows the connection of external extension modules of the AP Series. This means that you are no longer bound only to the configuration selected when ordering, but can also expand certain functions at a later date using external modules. Furthermore, the AP series is constantly being expanded and maintained with new modules, so that you can also expand existing units in the future with new functions that we will introduce.
Five extension modules of the AP Series are currently available:
Model AP9: Combined reverse current protection (inductive and capacitive loads)
Depending on the maximum voltage and current, the module is manufactured in 19″ 1U 1/2, 2U, or 3U designs and protects your power supply unit from reverse currents that can occur when operating with large capacitive or inductive loads. This means you do not need any additional protective circuitry between the power supply unit and your load, which greatly reduces the effort involved.
Model AP8: Additional EMC filter with output capacity
Some loads require a cleaner voltage than the power supply unit can deliver in its basic configuration, or, conversely, generate very strong interference (e.g., due to high-frequency current consumption with very steep edges—square wave) which can affect the control of the power supply unit at high currents. For these cases, we have developed the AP8 module, which combines a three-stage EMC filter with a large fast capacitance to further stabilize the output voltage of the power supply in critical applications and to protect the power supply from influences caused by loads. This combination guarantees a stable output voltage even under maximum load from complex high-frequency loads.
Model AP7: Additional EMC filter on the input side
For laboratory environments with particularly high demands on the EMC radiation level, the AP7 modules are available with an integrated three-stage EMC filter. Available in 1 or 3 phase versions for different power levels, the modules are compatible with all high power power supply units of the DP-M Series.
Model AP6: Pole reverser
The pole reverser module expands the power supply unit by enabling the output polarity to be reversed during operation. This can be controlled either directly via the power supply unit (digital connections – Modbus-RTU) or via the module (analog input 5V, mechanical switch on the front panel). Reversing the polarity interrupts the power supply to the load for no longer than 2 seconds.
Model AP5: Mechanical separation of the load from the power supply unit
Some applications require extra safety and nothing but mechanical disconnection of the power supply from the load or test bench can provide 100% safety. For this purpose, we have developed the AP5 module, which provides unsurpassed safety for the user through the immediate mechanical separation of the power supply from the load.
Versatile back
DP-M series laboratory power supplies can be remotely controlled in a variety of ways, both digitally and analogically. Equipped with RS232 and RS485 as standard and Modbus-RTU support, these power supplies can be quickly and effectively integrated into your existing infrastructure, optionally also via LAN. If your application requires an analog connection, a variety of common standards for controlling and reading setpoint and actual values are also available as options (0 ... 5V, 0 ... 10V, 4 ... 20mA).
Digital interface RS232 & RS485 (standard)
Equipped as standard with RS232 and RS485 connections and full support for the Modbus-RTU protocol, High-Performance Power Supplies of the DP-M Series allow both integration into the existing infrastructure and the development of new infrastructure. The open Modbus RTU protocol allows customised control solutions to be implemented quickly and effectively, so that nothing stands in the way of automation.
LAN connection (optional)
The High-Performance Power Supply of the DP-M Series has RS232 and RS485 interfaces with Modbus-RTU support as standard. This makes it easy and convenient to integrate the power supply unit into almost any existing infrastructure. On request, the power supply unit can also be extended by a LAN port with option D4.
remote-sensing input (standard)
The remote-sensing input is installed as standard in all power supply units of the DP-M Series and makes it possible to compensate for line losses between the power supply unit and the load. The power supply unit can compensate for losses of up to 2V by measuring the voltage at the load and automatically counteracting it. This function is particularly useful for high currents of over 100A and/or particularly long cables with small diameters. Furthermore, the remote-sensing input is necessary for connecting modules of the AP series.
Interlock input (optional)
By expanding the power supply unit with the interlock function, the output of the power supply unit can be blocked immediately under certain conditions. An example application would be blocking the output of the power supply unit when the protective cover of a machine connected to the power supply unit is open. Furthermore, the interlock input can be used to switch the output of the power supply unit on or off remotely by first switching the output on manually and then enabling or blocking it via the interlock signal. In high-performance power supplies of the DP-M series, the interlock input is designed as a potential-free loop which blocks the output of the power supply when interrupted – the option designation is A1.
Analog external remote control of the output voltage (optional)
If your application requires an analog connection and remote control of the power supply's output voltage, option U allows an analog control input (2-pin) to be implemented via the system bus connector. The standards 0 ... 10V (U1), 0 ... 5V (U2), and 4 ... 20mA (U3) are available for control.
Analog external remote control of the output current (optional)
Option L adds a control input (2-pin) via the system bus connector to the power supply unit, enabling analog external remote control of the power supply unit's output current. The standards 0 … 10V (L1), 0 … 5V (L2), and 4 … 20mA (L3) are available for control.
Analog actual value signal output voltage (optional)
Many applications require not only the ability to set output values analogously, but also feedback on the current actual values. Option F adds a feedback output (2-pin) to the power supply unit via the system bus connector, which transmits the current actual value of the power supply unit's output voltage. The standards 0 ... 10V (F1), 0 ... 5V (F2), and 4 ... 20mA (F3) are available.
Analog actual value signal output current (optional)
Option G adds a feedback output (2-pin) to the power supply unit via the system bus connector, which transmits the current actual value of the power supply unit's output current. The standards 0 ... 10V (G1), 0 ... 5V (G2), and 4 ... 20mA (G3) are available.
