As a supplier of measuring and testing equipment with our own quality certificate, our requirements for the companies we use to ship to customers on our behalf are just as high as those for our suppliers. Especially with sensitive measurement equipemnt, we place great value on careful packaging and safe transport. For this reason, we select the transport company for all orders that are not placed via our online platform.
The choice depends on several factors:
- Nature of the ordered products
- Destination country / destination of the transport
- Delivery time
- Value of the consignment
- Special requests by the customer
- Capacity utilisation of the shipping companies
- Possible collection dates on the part of the shipping companies
By doing this, we ensure that your order is packed in the best possible way and that it reaches you in the safest and quickest way possible – in doing so, we usually pay more for transport than we charge you for shipping and prefer to save by having less damage during transport.
When completing the order via our online platform, you will in most cases have several shipping methods to choose from, and the shipping prices will be requested and provided in real time from the respective shipping companies.
Which shipping companies do we work with and why?
1. United Parcel Service of America, Inc (UPS)
Our prioritised shipping company for shipments of less than 50 kg total weight, inside and outside Germany. Our statistics show that UPS transport our shipments most carefully and deliver on time with a high likelihood.
2 TNT Express N.V.
For shipments of more than 50kg net weight and lighter shipments, which we send on pallets despite their low weight, inside and outside Germany – we prefer TNT Express. TNT specialises in particularly heavy and bulky shipments and has a lot of experience and a wide transport network in this area. The transport damage rate is low and the shipments are very likely to arrive on time.
3. DHL and DHL Express
For particularly urgent shipments, we use DHL or DHL Express. Compared to the previous shipping companies, DHL offers the shortest delivery times.
4. GEL Express Logistics
Similar to TNT Express N.V., we use GEL Express for shipments within the EU with a tare weight of more than 50kg. An excellent damage rate and punctuality make GEL a valuable partner for us.
Which shipping companies do we not work with?
1. DPDgroup (DPD)
Unfortunately, our experience has shown that shipments by DPD are predominantly delivered too late or damaged. Customer support also leaves a lot to be desired, even if shipping costs could be saved here, we have removed DPD from our list and ask for your understanding.
2 General Logistics Systems B.V. (GLS)
Similar to DPD, GLS has unacceptable delay and transport damage rates in our statistics.
