One power supply, many possibilities: The DP-P Series of digital multifunction laboratory power supplies combine high performance with precise adjustment and versatile remote control. From development workstations to automated test benches, you can choose the right combination of voltage, current, and power from a wide range of models. The digital control loop continuously monitors the output values and automatically switches between constant-voltage and constant-current (CV/CC) operation depending on the load.
Control your power supply directly from the front panel or integrate it into your existing infrastructure. RS232, RS422, and RS485 with Modbus RTU are included. An optional LAN interface with server/client operation is available, as well as an independent analog I/O package that replaces RS232 and enables the control of voltage and current, as well as the feedback of both actual values via 0 … 5V, 0 … 10V, or 4 … 20mA. Full-width devices in the DP-P series support master/slave parallel operation as standard and are available in master or slave versions. Half-width devices with the suffix -S do not support this function.

From compact half-width units to high-performance rack-mount models, the DP-P Series can be tailored to your workspace. The temperature-dependent fan control adjusts cooling based on output parameters and operating conditions. Full-width units come with rack mounts. A shared rack slot for two half-width units is available separately.
| 600W models and models rated at 1200W with the suffix -S | 19-inch half-width, 2U; 21.3 cm wide, 8.8 cm high, 34 cm deep |
| Full-width models up to and including 5 kW | 19-inch full-width, 2U; depth varies by model |
| Full-width models starting at 6 kW | 19-inch full-width, 3U; depth varies by model |
Not every 1200W model is a half-width unit: You can identify the corresponding version by the suffix -S. This classification applies to the listed standard models. For special versions, the confirmed model dimensions apply.
Greater Performance in Parallel Operation
If a single power supply unit is not sufficient, expand your DC power supply with a master/slave parallel system consisting of DP-P full-width units. The voltage range remains the same, while the available current increases with the number of modules. The following example systems range from 10 V to 2,000 V and each provide more current than a single standard model in the series can deliver at the specified voltage.
For each voltage range shown, the examples use six units of the standard model with the highest rated current. The maximum output voltage, total current, and calculated system power are listed. One unit is configured as the master [M1], and the other five as slaves [M2]. Half-width units with the suffix -S are excluded from this configuration.
| Max. System Voltage | Max. Total Current | Max. System Performance* | Performance Modules | Equipment height in a 19-inch rack |

| 10V | 6000A | 60 kW | 6 × DP10-10HP | 18HE |
| 30V | 3000A | 90 kW | 6 × DP30-5HP | 18HE |
| 60V | 1500A | 90 kW | 6 × DP60-250P | 18HE |
| 100V | 900A | 90 kW | 6 × DP1H-150P | 18HE |
| 200V | 450A | 90 kW | 6 × DP2H-75P | 18HE |
| 300V | 300A | 90 kW | 6 × DP3H-50P | 18HE |
| 600V | 150A | 90 kW | 6 × DP6H-25P | 18HE |
| 1000V | 90A | 90 kW | 6 × DP10H-15P | 18HE |
| 1500V | 60A | 90 kW | 6 × DP15H-10P | 18HE |
| 2000V | 45A | 90 kW | 6 × DP20H-7-5P | 18HE |
* System power is calculated based on the listed voltage and current limits and is limited to the sum of the modules' rated powers. The HE specification refers only to the height of the units. Additional space for cooling, cabling, and protective components must be planned for separately.
We tailor the number of modules, system configuration, grid connection, and protective circuitry to your test setup. For loads that feed energy back into the grid, a properly designed protection concept is required. Parallel operation ensures that the power supply does not become an energy sink.

Software Suite for DP-P and DP-PH
Illustration of the software used to configure, monitor, and program the output values.
Recurring voltage and current waveforms can be programmed, executed, and recorded using the software suite. Use the digital interfaces or the optional LAN connection to integrate the device into your test process. The documented Modbus RTU protocol for the serial interfaces also simplifies the development of custom control systems and integration into LabVIEW applications. Direct operation via the front panel remains possible regardless.
AP Series Expansion Modules
More Options for Your Application
Illustration of a DP-M power supply with an AP8 module. The expansion unit is custom-built to match the power supply and the application.
Integrated reverse-current protection and additional protection modules
The output rectifier stage already provides basic protection against same-polarity reverse currents within the device’s permissible limits. For high-energy loads or reverse voltage transients, the protection can be specifically enhanced. The power supply is not an energy sink with unlimited capacity. The required design depends on the reverse current, reverse voltage, and stored load energy.
Model AP9: Application-Specific Reverse Current and Reverse Voltage Protection
With the AP9, you can tailor the additional protection to demanding inductive or capacitive loads. The module is custom-manufactured to order for the expected currents, voltages, and energy levels. Options include a combined protection circuit against high reverse currents and reverse voltages—particularly reverse-polarity transients—or a design as an active braking chopper to convert regenerated energy into heat. The specifications and permissible duty cycles will be agreed upon to suit your test setup.
Model AP8: Additional output-side EMC filter with
capacitance. To meet increased demands on your load’s power supply, the AP8 combines a three-stage EMC filter with additional output capacitance. The module helps reduce conducted interference and stabilizes the power supply to demanding loads. The design takes into account the power supply unit, the load, and the desired dynamic response.
Model AP7: Additional input-side EMC filter
When there are increased requirements on the mains side, the AP7 supplements the existing filtering with a three-stage EMC filter. This helps reduce conducted interference in demanding test and production environments. The single- or three-phase configuration and current-carrying capacity are selected to match the power supply unit.
Model AP6: Polarity Reverser
Change the output polarity to match your test procedure. The AP6 can be controlled via the power supply unit’s digital communication using Modbus RTU, or directly on the module via a 5V input or the front-panel switch. During the polarity change, power to the load is interrupted for a maximum of 2 seconds. The configuration is tailored to the power supply unit and the application.
Model AP5: Mechanical Isolation of the Load
Supplement the electronic output control with a physical isolation point between the power supply and the load or test bench. The AP5 is manufactured to match the voltage, current, and application, and is integrated into your system’s safety concept.
All AP modules are manufactured to order. The cabinet , and electrical specifications are tailored to your application.
Connection options
Flexibly Integrate Your Power Supply
Illustration of the DP-P series. The pin assignment depends on the selected model and the ordered configuration.
Digital interfaces (standard)
, RS232, RS422, and RS485 with Modbus RTU enable the configuration and monitoring of output values. If analog I/O is selected, RS232 is not available.
LAN (optional)
Integrate the power supply into your network infrastructure. The LAN interface can be configured for server or client operation, depending on your application.
Analog I/O (optional)
The analog package connects external voltage and current setpoints to the feedback of both actual values. Select a common signal standard for all four functions: 0 … 5V, 0 … 10V, or 4 … 20mA. The package replaces RS232 and can be ordered independently of the optional LAN interface.
remote-sensing input
Models with an output current exceeding 50 A come standard with the remote-sensing input . It measures the voltage directly at the load and compensates for line losses of up to 2 V. This ensures that the power supply remains precisely matched to the load, even at higher currents and with longer connection cables.
Interlock Loop (Standard)
The 5V loop blocks the output when the loop is open and enables it when the loop is closed. Upon request, it can be configured at the factory as an external output ON/OFF trigger. The user cannot switch between these two functions after installation.
Status Output (Standard)
The separate status output indicates the device status using 0 V for errors and 5 V for normal operation. It supplements the monitoring of your application independently of any optional analog actual value outputs.
Output and Master/Slave Parallel Operation
Models up to and including 1500V come standard with a potential-free output. Higher voltages are supplied with a grounded output. Full-width devices in the DP-P series support master/slave parallel operation as standard and are available in master or slave versions. A master/slave series connection is not supported. The half-width versions with the suffix -S do not support this feature. For bipolar configurations with a grounded center point, a suitable output configuration is required.
