Highest performance and yet compact

Devices of the DP-S series were developed especially for applications in the field of "testing and repair", where high power must be available for a short time and a stationary high-performance power supply unit is not always available at the place of use or is simply not needed for cost reasons. Despite the specialization, laboratory power supplies of the DP-S series are also used in production as well as in the laboratory - and this successfully for years (according to our customers).
DP-S Series duty-cycle
The available maximum power depends on the model - see "Data sheet".
DP-S series laboratory power supplies are designed for high short-term power and can provide up to and including 4.5kW continuously, above that for at least one hour. The laboratory power supply is equipped with an intelligent temperature control so that at a power above 4.5kW the power supply automatically switches off the output when a critical temperature is reached and switches to "cool down" mode until a normal internal temperature is reached. The current status of the power supply is indicated by an LED on the front panel.
High-performance, solid equipment
Despite their compact design and high performance, the compact laboratory power supplies in the DP-S series are very reliable and stable. Current and voltage are regulated by a precise digital circuit with a fast response time and the output is potential-free on all models. In addition, laboratory power supply units in the DP-S series have two precise rotary controls for fine and coarse adjustment for voltage and current.
Four-digit LED display
Current and voltage are displayed on two bright four-digit LED displays at the front. Status information such as possible errors (overvoltage, overcurrent, temperature) can be read via colored LEDs.
External control
Laboratory Power Supplies of the DP-S Series can optionally be equipped with analogue external control inputs for output voltage and current and an interlock input. The control inputs are potential-free and offer high precision through the use of high-quality signal converters. All analogue connections are accessible via a shielded safety plug on the front of the unit, so that it is not necessary to reach to the rear for connection.
Compatible with many external expansion modules of the AP Series
Expand your DP-S series laboratory power supply with additional functions - even after purchase.

DP-S Series power supplies are compatible with many optional AP Series expansion modules, so you are no longer limited to the configuration you choose when ordering, but can also expand certain functions at a later date using external modules. In addition, the AP series is continuously being expanded and maintained with new modules, so that you can also expand existing units in the future with new functions that we will introduce.
Currently, the following AP series expansion modules are compatible with DP-S series Laboratory power Supplies:
Model AP9: Combined reverse current protection (inductive and capacitive loads).
Depending on the maximum voltage and current, the module is manufactured in 19″ 1RU 1/2, 2RU or 3RU construction and protects your power supply from reverse currents, which can occur when operating with large capacitive or inductive loads. Thus, you do not need an additional protective circuit between the power supply and your load, which reduces the effort enormously.
Model AP8: Additional EMC filter with capacitance on the output side.
Some loads require a cleaner voltage than the power supply can deliver in the basic configuration, or on the contrary generate very strong interferences (e.g. by high frequency current draw with very steep edges - square wave) which can influence the control of the power supply at high currents. For these cases we have developed the AP8 module which combines a three-stage EMC filter with a large fast capacitance to further stabilize the output voltage of the power supply in critical applications on the one hand and to protect the power supply from influences by loads on the other hand. This combination guarantees a stable output voltage even under the highest load of complex high frequency loads.

Portable laboratory power supplies of the DP-S series are designed for high performance with maximum mobility, while a powerful cooling system ensures low temperatures even under high load. The mains connections are either designed as C19 / C20 sockets / plugs or as high-voltage couplings with pull fuses. A 3-phase supply has been omitted to ensure maximum flexibility for outdoor applications, so that power supply units with a maximum power of 6 kW can also be operated on only one phase with a fuse protection of 32A. The analogue control signals (optional) are connected at the front via a shielded DIN socket, a suitable plug is included.
Digital RS232 interface (standard from the current revision)
Equipped as standard with RS232 connection and full support for the Modbus RTU protocol, laboratory power supply units in the DP-S series make it easy to integrate into existing infrastructures as well as to develop new ones. Thanks to the open Modbus RTU protocol, customer-specific control solutions can be implemented quickly and effectively, so that nothing stands in the way of automation.
Interlock input (optional)
By adding the interlock function to the power supply unit, the output of the power supply unit can be blocked immediately under certain conditions. An example application would be to block the output of the power supply unit when the protective cover of a machine connected to the power supply unit is open. Furthermore, the interlock input can be used to switch the output of the power supply unit on or off remotely by first switching the output on manually and then enabling or blocking it via the interlock signal. On DP-S Series Laboratory Power Supplies, the interlock input is designed as floating loop which blocks the output of the power supply in the event of an interruption - the option designation is A1.
Analogue external remote control of the output voltage (optional)
If your application requires an analogue connection and remote control of the output voltage of the power supply unit, an analogue control input (2-pin) can be realised with option U via the DIN connector on the front. The standards 0 ... 10V (U1), 0 ... 5V (U2) and 4 ... 20mA (U3) are available for the control.
Analogue external remote control of the output current (optional)
Option L adds a control input (2-pin) to the power supply unit via the DIN connector on the front which enables analogue external remote control of the output current of the power supply unit. The standards 0 ... 10V (L1), 0 ... 5V (L2) and 4 ... 20mA (L3) are available for the control.
