Size is not important - but still an advantage
Sophisticated technology and high quality selected components allow high performance in a compact cabinet. Up to 1.8kW of power is delivered by DP-M Series high performance power supplies from a 19″ 1U 1/2 width cabinet, allowing two units to be mounted side-by-side in a 1U bay. In addition, high power DP-M series power supplies in all cabinet sizes can be rack mounted as well as free standing - matching mounting accessories for rack mounting are included free of charge with all 2U and 3U units. Suitable mounting accessories for two 19″ 1U 1/2 units in one rack can be ordered separately.
|Less than and including 1.8kW||19″ 1U 1/2 width cabinet|
|More than 1.8kW and up to 12kW||19″ 2U cabinet|
|More than 12kW||19″ 3U cabinet|
Attention: Enclosure size may differ for certain models, e.g. 2kV models, please refer to the datasheet.
Fully compatible with external expansion modules of the AP Series
With the units of the DP-M Series, we have introduced a universal communication interface that allows the connection of external extension modules of the AP Series. This means that you are no longer bound only to the configuration selected when ordering, but can also expand certain functions at a later date using external modules. Furthermore, the AP series is constantly being expanded and maintained with new modules, so that you can also expand existing units in the future with new functions that we will introduce.
Five extension modules of the AP Series are currently available:
Model AP9: Combined reverse current protection (inductive and capacitive loads).
Depending on the maximum voltage and current, the module is manufactured in 19″ 1RU 1/2, 2RU or 3RU construction and protects your power supply from reverse currents, which can occur when operating with large capacitive or inductive loads. Thus, you do not need an additional protective circuit between the power supply and your load, which reduces the effort enormously.
Model AP8: Additional EMC filter with capacitance on the output side.
Some loads require a cleaner voltage than the power supply can deliver in the basic configuration, or on the contrary generate very strong interferences (e.g. by high frequency current draw with very steep edges - square wave) which can influence the control of the power supply at high currents. For these cases we have developed the AP8 module which combines a three-stage EMC filter with a large fast capacitance to further stabilize the output voltage of the power supply in critical applications on the one hand and to protect the power supply from influences by loads on the other hand. This combination guarantees a stable output voltage even under the highest load of complex high frequency loads.
Model AP7: Additional EMC filter on the input side
For laboratory environments with particularly high demands on the EMC radiation level, the AP7 modules are available with an integrated three-stage EMC filter. Available in 1 or 3 phase versions for different power levels, the modules are compatible with all high power power supply units of the DP-M Series.
Model AP6: Pole changer
The pole changer module extends the power supply unit by the possibility of rotating the output polarity during operation. It can be controlled either directly by the power supply (digital connections - Modbus RTU) or by the module (analog input 5V, mechanical switch on the front panel). Reversing the polarity interrupts the power supply to the load for no longer than 2 seconds.
Model AP5: Mechanical separation of the load from the power supply unit
Some applications require extra safety and nothing but mechanical disconnection of the power supply from the load or test bench can provide 100% safety. For this purpose, we have developed the AP5 module, which provides unsurpassed safety for the user through the immediate mechanical separation of the power supply from the load.
DP-M series laboratory power supplies are versatile for remote control, both digital and analog. Equipped as standard with RS232 and RS485 and Modbus RTU support, these power supplies can be quickly and effectively integrated into your existing infrastructure, optionally also via LAN. If your application requires an analog connection, a variety of common standards for controlling and reading setpoints and actual values are optionally available (0 ... 5V, 0 ... 10V, 4 ... 20mA).
Digital interface RS232 & RS485 (standard)
Equipped as standard with RS232 and RS485 connections and full support for the Modbus-RTU protocol, High-Performance Power Supplies of the DP-M Series allow both integration into the existing infrastructure and the development of new infrastructure. The open Modbus RTU protocol allows customised control solutions to be implemented quickly and effectively, so that nothing stands in the way of automation.
LAN connection (optional)
The High-Performance Power Supply of the DP-M Series has RS232 and RS485 interfaces with Modbus-RTU support as standard. This makes it easy and convenient to integrate the power supply unit into almost any existing infrastructure. On request, the power supply unit can also be extended by a LAN port with option D4.
remote-sensing input (standard)
The remote-sensing input is installed as standard in all power supply units of the DP-M Series and makes it possible to compensate for line losses between the power supply unit and the load. The power supply unit can compensate for losses of up to 2V by measuring the voltage at the load and automatically counteracting it. This function is particularly useful for high currents of over 100A and/or particularly long cables with small diameters. Furthermore, the remote-sensing input is necessary for connecting modules of the AP series.
Interlock input (optional)
By adding the interlock function to the power supply, the output of the power supply can be blocked immediately under certain conditions. An example application would be to block the output of the power supply when the protective cover of a machine connected to the power supply is open. Furthermore, the interlock input can be used to switch the output of the power supply on or off remotely by first switching the output on manually and then enabling or blocking it via the interlock signal. On high power power supplies of the DP-M series the interlock input is designed as a potential free loop, which blocks the output of the power supply in case of an interruption - the option designation is A1.
Analog external remote control of the output voltage (optional)
If your application requires an analog connection and remote control of the output voltage of the power supply unit, an analog control input (2-pin) can be implemented via the system bus connector with the U option. The standards 0 ... 10V (U1), 0 ... 5V (U2) and 4 ... 20mA (U3) are available for the control.
Analog external remote control of the output current (optional)
Option L adds a control input (2-pin) to the power supply unit via the system bus connector, which enables analog external remote control of the output current of the power supply unit. The standards 0 ... 10V (L1), 0 ... 5V (L2) and 4 ... 20mA (L3) are available for the control.
Analog actual value signal output voltage (optional)
Many applications require not only the possibility of analog setting of the output values, but also feedback about the current actual values. Option F adds a feedback output (2-pin) to the power supply via the system bus connector, which transmits the current actual value of the output voltage of the power supply. The standards 0 ... 10V (F1), 0 ... 5V (F2) and 4 ... 20mA (F3) are available.
Analog actual value signal output current (optional)
Option G extends the power supply unit by a feedback output (2-pin) via the system bus connector, which transmits the current actual value of the output current of the power supply unit. The standards 0 ... 10V (G1), 0 ... 5V (G2) and 4 ... 20mA (G3) are available.
